Laura is a Business Principal with Meridian Urban. She is a land use planning and community resilience specialist with almost 15 years of diversified industry experience across the public and private sectors. Laura specialises in the integration of natural hazard risk management into policy and strategy, with a particular emphasis on bushfire risk and resilience, floodplain risk management and climate adaptation.

Laura maintains extensive experience in the areas of management consulting, planning policy, strategic and statutory planning. Laura’s approach seeks to ‘think differently’ in reconciling the often complex challenges associated with integrating land use planning, governance, emergency management and disaster risk mitigation processes.

Laura also retains comprehensive expertise and practical experience in the areas of societal resilience, risk responsive urban design, emergency management, infrastructure resilience, and resilience-based building provisions. She co-authored the National Land Use Planning Guidelines for Disaster Resilient Communities and in 2018, worked closely with the NSW Government to undertake a land use planning-based risk assessment of the Ingleside Planned Precinct.

Laura is a recognised leader in the land use planning profession and was awarded Australian Young Planner of the Year in 2011.
